This gigantic work by Jean Tinguely and Niki de-Saint-Phalle corresponds to the expression "giant and evolutive sculpture". 22,50 meters high, The Cyclop or The Head, is a colossal metallic sculpture in the heart of the Milly Forest. Fantastic and mysterious, The Cyclop shelters strange, odd mechanics, but also extraordinary works of about fifteen artists, to whom, Jean Tinguely, out of friendship, has reserved a space in the main sculpture: B. Luginbuhl, Eva Reppli, Arman, César, Marcel Duchamp, J.P. Raynaud, J.R. Soto, D. Spoerri, Larry Rivers, etc. The face, entirely recovered with broken glass, is a conception of Niki de Saint-Phalle. The Cyclop was inaugurated by the President of the Republic on May 24th 1994. |
